Rio is one of the best family-friendly Restaurants in Connecticut, as referenced in AAA Horizons Southern New England Edition. The Lumberyard Pub in West Redding, Chip’s Restaurant in Fairfield, and The Woodbury Diner in Woodbury were also mentioned. “Rio has hosted parties for students in Spanish-language programs at area middle and high schools, but the casual atmosphere punctuated with piñatas, sombreros and colorful Mexican textiles is comfortable for young children, as well”. “Both the Lunch and Dinner menus feature an extensive array of regional Mexican foods in portions large enough to share”.
Rio Es Una Fiesta Todos los Dias!
Most Mexican restaurants use low quality food, drinks, liquor and tequila. At Rio, we are a locally family owned and operated business. All of the owners and employees eat and drink at Rio almost daily. Therefore, we only use the highest quality ingredients, drinks, liquor and tequila. Additionally, everything is prepared fresh daily, not the day before. We personally shop weekly at the market hand picking the best vegetables, fruits, meats, chicken and vegetables. Most Mexican restaurants use a 40% tequila in their house margaritas. Our house margaritas contain Sauza gold, an expensive 100% pure blue agave tequila. Our chicken is organic and 100% antibiotic free. It costs more, but you can taste the difference. We also use 100% certified black angus beef. All our liquor is top shelf, that’s why you don’t get a headache the next day. Most of us have been happily working at Rio for 22 years, trying our best to please our customers on a daily basis.
At RIO, we take sanitation very seriously. We regularly hold SafeServ classes for the entire staff and our key employees all hold the SafeServ Certification. Additionally, the City of Norwalk, has awarded us the highest rating, for meeting public health code safety and sanitary guidelines, every year, since they began implementing this designation.
